With an idea to create a musical and visual archive we gathered at Te Wera Valley Lodge - a little piece of paradise on the Forgotten World Highway 43
An old forestry camp surrounded by trees and birds, a place to live away from it all for a while, to be together and to record some original music. With planned and spontaneous collaboration we hoped to achieve an authentic live recording within a limited time frame.
A cross the spectrum we ranged from 23 to 81 years of age. Sound engineer Matt Sephton brought his mobile studio from Coromandel, my son Aden Mackay guitarist came from Darwin, Wayne Morris drummer and percussionist came from NewPlymouth along with artist Sunset and photographer Bridget Davis to capture our weekend.
We had the best weather East Taranaki can offer as we socialised, shared and created.
